Celebration of Matribhasha Diwas 2022 | Mother Language day 2022

Celebration of Matribhasha Diwas 2022: UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has declared 21 February of every year to be celebrated as International Mother Language Day to promote the spread of Mother Language of all, create awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions, and diversity across the world, and to inspire solidarity amongst the people of different cultures, speaking different languages. Accordingly, Mother Language Day (Matribhasha Diwas) is celebrated every year on this date.

Mother Language Day 2022 may be celebrated under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program to promote the following:

  • Highlight the linguistic diversity & unity of our country.
  • Encourage the use of not only the respective mother language but also other Indian languages.
  • To understand and appreciate the diverse cultures in India and the various platforms of literature, crafts, performing arts, scripts, and other forms of creative expression.

How to send the report of the Celebration of Matribhasha Diwas 2022

Step II: After clicking the above link, the Report Send Form opens.

Step III: Enter all the details asked in the form and add your report.

Step IV: Click on the “Submit” Button

School heads are encouraged to celebrate Mother Language Day by organizing various activities like speech, debate, singing or essay writing or painting competitions, musical and theatrical performances, exhibitions, etc. Schools may also organize other activities on the occasion by following the necessary COVID protocols.
