CBSE Issues Important Circular Regarding CWSN Candidates
Clarification Regarding CWSN Candidates & Facilities Extended to Them – This is a continuation of the CBSE Board’s Notification dated 14 February 2020, regarding the medical certificate in respect of candidates with an intellectual disability or mental illness and various other circulars and communication sent by the Board from time to time to provide facilities to the candidates with special needs.
It is once again to inform all the stockholders that:
The Central Board of Secondary Education is fully committed to implementing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in a true sense.
Central Board of Secondary Education has implemented all-important directions issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities from time to time in the field of school education as far as applicable and practicable.
The CBSE notification dated 14 February 2020 was not intended to prescribe any rules or procedures and was intended only to inform the stakeholders about the details notified in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) dated 5/01/2018 regarding the assessment of the extent of specified disability in a person covered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Therefore, all the schools need to follow the instructions issued by the Ministry and Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
In case of any ambiguity, schools affiliated to CBSE, students, and other concerned are requested to follow the instructions issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Department, Government of India for details.
CBSE will continue to make sincere and persistent efforts to ensure the welfare and entitlements of its students covered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in the future also.
