Syllabus for JEE Advanced 2022
The examination authority announces the JEE Advanced syllabus. According to reports, the JEE curriculum will most probably stay unaffected from last year. The syllabus is largely based on the NCERT curriculum and is very equivalent to the Mains Syllabus (with a slight difference in the weightage for different topics). Going over the syllabus will assist IIT aspirants in planning and scheduling their preparation strategy.
Because the questions in JEE Advanced are more focused on conceptual clarity and application-based knowledge, candidates should practise mixed variations of problems from multiple reference books. To pass this exam, they must concentrate equally on all three subjects. Because the exam is highly uncertain and questions can come from anywhere, assess your strengths and devise a study plan based on the topics covered in the syllabus.
The JEE Advanced curriculum, however, has been modified for the 2023 exam.
Best JEE Advanced Books
A list of books that students preparing for JEE Advanced 2022 can refer to is provided below.

- NCERT Class XI & XII
- Inorganic Chemistry by J.D. Lee

Physics:
- NCERT Class XI and XII
- JEE Physics by D.C. Pandey
- HC Verma Part I & II
- Problems in Physics by S.S. Krotov

It is critical for students to select the best books for IIT JEE preparation. They must accompany them throughout the preparations. Avoid referring to multiple books for similar topics as this can lead to concept confusion. Analyze your strengths and weaknesses and devise an effective study plan so that your preparation time is evenly distributed and the entire syllabus is completed on time.

Counselling for JEE Advanced 2022
Aspirants should be aware that the IIT that administers the exam is not the authority in charge of JEE Advanced counselling and seat allocation. The rest of the activities are managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates who qualify for the JEE Advanced must first register with the JoSAA. Only then will they be able to participate in the counselling process, in which candidates must select their preferred IITs and courses. Seats are based primarily on the candidates’ ranks, priorities, and seat availability. Following the announcement of the results, the JoSAA 2022 application form must be made available.
Cutoff Marks for JEE Advanced 2022
The cutoff marks for the entrance exam will be announced along with the results. JEE Advanced cut-off marks are the minimum marks required by candidates to be eligible for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority’s counselling process (JoSAA). The cutoff marks and ranks obtained in the examination are used to select students for admission to IITs.
What factors influence JEE Advanced cutoff scores?
- Total number of students eligible for JEE Advanced Exam
- Seat Availability in various IITs
- Exam difficulty level
- Total candidates appeared
- Last year’s cutoffs
- Overall Performance of the student appeared in the exam.
Mock Exam for JEE Advanced 2022
The examination authority will release the mock test papers for the 2022 exams. Students are encouraged to thoroughly practise these test papers in order to become acquainted with the computer-based online exam pattern. The JEE Advanced mock test will last 180 minutes, and candidates will navigate between sections and submit their answers using computers. It is one of the most effective ways to prepare for highly competitive exams such as the JEE Advanced.
Aside from the mock test, sample papers and previous year’s question papers are extremely useful in understanding the marking scheme, types of questions asked, exam difficulty level, time distribution, and so on.
