JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024: The National Testing Agency, NTA (One of the most popular exam-conducting agencies) has released all eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2024 Exam on its official website. NTA has also released the revised exam date of JEE Main 2024 Session 2 and all the candidates should know this information because the exam date has changed. Earlier, the JEE Main Session 2 exam was to be held from April 1 to April 15, 2024, but this exam date clashed with the CBSE Board Exam 2024, hence on the request of the CBSE board, NTA extended the exam date of JEE Main 2024 Session 2. Now the exam of JEE Main Session 2 will be conducted by NTA between 4th April to 15th April 2024.

Age Criteria of JEE Main 2024
To appear in JEE (Main) Session 2 Entrance Exam 2024, there is no age limit for the JEE Main 2024 applicants. Those aspirants of JEE Main who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or appearing in 2024, irrespective of their age, can appear for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 examination. However, applicants may need to fulfill the age criteria of the institute in which they wish to take admission.
List of Education Qualifications for JEE Main 2024
- Final examination of the 10+2 system conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi OR Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
- Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
- The Senior Secondary School Examination is conducted by the NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) with a minimum of five subjects.
- Any public school/board/university examination in India or any foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
- Diploma of at least 3 years duration recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.
- Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examinations at Advanced (A) level (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka).
- The High School Certificate Examination of the University of Cambridge or the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) board examination outside India or from a Board not specified above must produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.
- If the Class 12 examination is not a public examination, the applicant must first pass at least one public (board or pre-university) examination.
Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination
Only those applicants who have passed the Class 12/equivalent annual board examination in 2022, 2023, or who are appearing in the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2024 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) Session 2 Entrance Examination 2024.
Applicants who have passed the twelfth/equivalent board examination in 2021 or before, as well as candidates who will appear in such examination in 2024 or later, are not eligible to appear in the JEE (Main) entrance exam 2024.
