Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases two notifications about the Safety of Children in Schools and Covid-19 Vaccination of Children of age group between 15-18 Years. In this article, you will get the complete details of both notifications.

CBSE Circular about Safety of Children in Schools

Since children spend quality time at school, it is essential that they remain safe on the school premises. All schools are expected to follow safety measures as well as compliance and guidelines issued from time to time.

Schools should ensure that they have valid building safety, fire safety, and other prescribed certificates when schools are running. In continuation of the earlier circulars on the safety of school children, it is reiterated that the essential aspects of the safety of children are taken care of by the schools.

The school should ensure the following measures for the safety of the students in the schools.

  • The school should ensure compliance and compliance with the fire safety norms prescribed by the appropriate authority.
  • The school should ensure that the school building structure is safe and sound for running the school and should adhere to the norms of building safety as prescribed by the appropriate authority.
  • The school must ensure that the students are safe & secure on the school premises during school hours.
  • The school must ensure the safety of the students on the school bus and other school transport.
  • The school should review the safety guidelines from time to time and get the safety certificates renewed from time to time as prescribed by the appropriate authority.

Heads of all schools are accordingly directed to follow the provisions and procedures contained in the above guidelines framed by the statutory bodies i.e. NCPCR and NDMA. Information from schools, if any, will be sought through the OASIS portal only.

Covid-19 Vaccination of Children of age group between 15-18 Years

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has issued guidelines on December 27, 2021, for the Coronavirus COVID-19 vaccination of children between 15-18 years of age from January 03, 2022, under the National Vaccination Programme.

Taking the COVID-19 vaccination as per the guidelines of the Government of India will ensure the safety of children and students in the age group of 15-18 years and provide security to the students who leave their homes to attend school.

Keeping in view the above facts, the heads of schools affiliated with CBSE are advised to encourage the parents, teachers, and staff of the schools to take care of their 15-18-Year-old children as per the guidelines of the Government of India as early as possible.
