CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) offers Single Girl Child Scholarship to those single girl child who has passed class 10 from a school affiliated with CBSE. This scheme was started by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from the year 2006.

Eligibility Criteria of Single Girl Child Scholarship 2021
- The board has scholarships for single girl children pursuing her education in class 11 and 12 in CBSE affiliated schools, who have passed class 10 from a CBSE affiliated school.
- Those girl students who are the only child of their parents and have secured 60% or more marks in class 10 are eligible for the award of scholarship.
- The monthly tuition fee should not exceed Rs.1500/- per month in class 10 and a 10% increase for classes 11 and 12.
- The scholarship awarded will be renewed for a period of one year after successful completion of class 11 and the student has secured 50% or more marks in class 11 and been promoted to class 12.
- The scholarship will be awarded to Indian citizens only.
- NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the scholarship award. The tuition fee for NRIs has been fixed at a maximum of Rs.6,000/- per month.
- Under this scheme, a scholar can avail of a scholarship and enjoy other concessions given by the school in which he is studying other organization(s).
Candidates can apply online for the Single Girl Child Scholarship and schools have to verify the application form of their school students. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has a scholarship portal where schools can login and verify applications.

- Enter the existing school credentials used for various exam activities.
- After logging in, a list of applications related to the applicant’s school will be shown.
- Check the details of the applicant and select Accepted/Rejected, as the case may be, after due verification of the application against the scholarship eligibility guidelines.
- It will be visible to the applicant on updating the status.
- Once the details are verified and the status is updated, no further changes can be made.
- Students can also follow up with the school in case of application is being shown pending.
